As the saying goes, hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. And, weak men create hard times. That's how I see America. Like you, I lived in a country where we looked upon America.
Iām an American and am trying to remain positive except when I saw this recent news story... Halloween is being banned in one New Jersey school district because it might offend.
I have to say that when I was a child the Halloween tradition was not so very spreaded... The only memory of Halloween is as a teenager dessed as a witch š There were no decoration at home either, we always wait to decorate home till Christmas. I feel the same sensation with autumn. Rainy days, shorter days... all seems to be a little moody but romantic at the same time.
Like very much the photo of the two aliens in a car š
Andrei, I love your assesment on Halloween-I also didnāt realize how much I needed to see Jedi Batman until your post. Thank you so much for gracing us with that picture! Loved those spooky haikus!
Also, I feel you on what you said about America. I originally had two things typed out to try and give you an answer for why the image that America the country has put out is cracking, but both answers just turned into tangents that donāt make sense. But those are good questions to ask (about any country really) and good observations. Please keeping asking those questions and making those observationsš
Love the haikus and thanks for the great and interesting read, Andrei.
I grew up in the UK and where I lived Halloween wasn't much of a thing. It's a bit similar in Australia. Some places are getting increasingly more into it, though. Personally I find it a tad too much of America encroaching š
"Perhaps itās the wind, angrily whispering stories into our ears, or the sheet of rain and fog that drapes over everything, forcing our imaginations to work filling in the gaps." - Such beautiful writing. Fall is just wonderful. Congratulations on almost one year here!
