I like the idea that your fish is having Margaritas on a beach in the Dominican! 😁 My list of pets is a bit more long, and right now we have a dog called Felix and four cats called Asher, Spook, Iker and Tito. All our past and present pets are very beloved members of the family 🥰

My mum is allergic to just about every animal, so dogs or cats were off limits as a kid.
My wife and I have a cat, Clementine, who also seems to be possessed with the occasional bouts of batshit craziness.

I’ve seen such meandering sentences in Salman Rushdie and Gabriel Garcia Marquez. I have a hunch you’re referring to the former. Could that be it?
